Monday, Sept. 14
We owe a huge Thank You to our sponsors who made Monday's virtual Taste of Chelsea possible - along with all of our amazing donors and supporters! By being part of the community solution to end domestic violence, you truly make a difference across Chelsea, Revere, East Boston, Charlestown and Winthrop. HarborCOV's mission is to support those affected by domestic violence, and every dollar raised directly reaches local survivors. You truly have helped raise awareness, and we are grateful.
Thank you to everyone who picked up dinner or had it delivered from one of our great local favorite restaurants. This has been an especially tough year for food service and small business, and they have always been beyond generous when it comes to supporting their community. Taste of Chelsea could not happen without them.
It's also been an especially tough year for survivors and HarborCOV. We’ve all seen stories from around the world, country and state about how “safe at home” is not necessarily true for families living with domestic abuse. The same is true here at home, where HarborCOV has been covering hotel costs, and providing financial and food assistance for hundreds of families across our communities to keep them as safe and healthy as possible. The request for support from survivors has increased by nearly 40% from last year either for shelter space, case management, legal support, obtaining restraining orders, or help with rent, groceries and transportation costs.
From all of us at HarborCOV, thank you for being our friends and allies in this work! We'll see you for the 18th annual Taste of Chelsea in 2021!
