Domestic violence offenses in Massachusetts increased from 2020 to 2022
According to a report from the Massachusetts State Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team, there was a dramatic increase in domestic violence offenses in the bay state from 2020 to 2022.
The number of aggravated assaults rose from 5,690 to 6,102 (a 7% increase) from 2020 to 2022.
Massachusetts also experienced a 55% increase in domestic violence homicides from 2020 to 2022.
The state review team has called for increased public education about domestic violence to combat this increase.
